GUIDE HACHETTE 2003
Les Corvées 1999 -
Gabriel Tortochot's daughter, Chantal Michel, succeeded him in 1996. Les Corvées wine produced by her is very young-looking, with that characteristic violet sparkle. A very evocative taste, dense but well-balanced, suggestive of ripe red fruits. To be put into the category of pleasurable wines.
Chambertin Grand Cru 1999 - Chambertin vintages are linked to memories of Gaby (Gabriel Tortochot). They are a part of our history. A subtle amber hue, with a rolling, fluent nose - just as Gabriel liked his Chambertins to be, as he would tell you if you bumped into him on the Place de la Mairie around election-time. Kirsh almonds, spices, the taste of the wine in one's mouth follows the nose very nicely, with adequate acidity and a long finish.
