| LE GRAND BERNARD
DES VINS DE FRANCE 1991, J-F BAZIN :
Charmes-Chambertin 1988***: Red almost black,
an 88 with impressive depth, so long it is impossible
to distinguish the finish. Quite simply, it bursts with
fruit and will give lots of pleasure to those who are
lucky enough to drink it at least ten years from now.

Mazis-Chambertin 1988***: A wine with lots of
character, liquorice, blackcurrant seeds, quite closed
of course but structured and powerful. Sincere, it bears
its name and vintage perfectly.
Chambertin 1988***: "I would like us to
be sincere," insisted Alceste. There is no need to
insist with this Chambertin. The colour of Célimène but
infinitely more sincere and generous...Expressive and
well-made, an 88 that will age well and would have made
Alceste much less misanthropic.
