GUIDE HACHETTE 2004
Gevrey Les Corvées
2000*
With the Tortochot (and Gaby, Chantal's
father did it before pocketing a few great wines in the
Chambertin), the whole range is presented, or almost.
We therefore have a good overview of the wines in the
Domaine. The jury gave good marks to these "Corvées"
situated between the Cross in the fields and the centre
of the village. Tinged with burlat cherry, their flavour
combines raspberry, redcurrent and stemwood. The palate
is rich (smooth, good tannin intensity) and the result
of a happy combination. Opulent, these "Corvées"
are a noble race, as confirmed by a taster. A mention
also for a Lavaux St Jacques 1er Cru 2000.

| GUIDE DES SOMMELIERS 2003
Grand
Cru Mazis-Chambertin 2000 an intense ruby cherry hue, with a sparkling
blueish disc. A remarkably complex and expressive nose, a mix of very pure fruit
aromas and a hint of liquorice. A very subtle and distinguished taste, a well-balanced
texture, heightened by a lot of tannin, without being harsh. All in all, a Mazis-Chambertin
that more than lives up to its prestigious Grand Cru label. For
keeping until 2004. Will be mature in 2005. Rating:
18 out of 20 | | |
