The nature of the terroir.
Three types of Premiers Crus may be found in Gevrey-Chambertin.
The most famous are located in the vineyards of Côte St. Jacques.
This slope, which extends from la Bossiere at the entrance of
the valley in Champeaux, was given its name in the 19th century.
Another string of climats is located beneath the Grands Crus.
Finally, it is the best parcels of the alluvial cone at the
far end of the valley that merit this name. Gevrey is one of
the two most well-endowed vineyards in the Côte de Nuits.

The exposure is due south. The resulting cherry red wine is
herbaceous and spicy, possessing a rich structure with elegant
tannins. This Premier Cru is situated on the slopes of Côte
St. Jacques. It offers the highest degree of finesse and elegance
