Utanapishtim will tell Gilgamesh many of the same things Shiduri does: the gods set a limit on human life, but there is no point in anticipating it; one should dress well and eat well. 267–322). 8 Shiduri helps Gilgamesh cross the Waters of Death to Utanapishtim by telling him about the boatman Urshanabi, who is currently on this side of the Waters.
